TESTIMONIAL
I had been contemplating getting my own nutrition coach for about a year, and after being sick almost the entire month of March and just not feeling like myself, I finally decided to pull the trigger and commit to having a nutrition coach for a year. Besides getting sober back in 2011, taking the action to hire a nutrition coach has been one of the best decisions I could have ever made for not only my physical health but my mental health as well. My goal was simply to feel more like me, and whatever direction Joyce guided me in, I was going to be onboard 100%. Working with her has been so amazing. In 12 weeks she was able to support me in losing about 13 lbs, and not once throughout my entire fat loss phase did I ever feel deprived, restricted, or stressed when it came to my food consumption. My weekly check-ins with her always provided me the opportunity to thoughtfully reflect on the facts of the week and also express the feelings that would crop up due to a lifetime of “programming” and beliefs around movement and nutrition. She is now having me reverse diet, and an experience that I once felt a sense of unease around she has instilled in me more confidence than I could imagine. I’ve learned that balance is the name of the game and to trust the process. The mindset I have about day-to-day activities has shifted from a perspective of “I have to do this task” to “I’m grateful I have the ability to get this task done.” What started as a journey to feel more like me has turned into somewhat of a transformation. Instead of viewing food as good or bad, I view it as the fuel that allows me to participate in this very busy, active, full life that I’m grateful to have. I’m so dang proud of myself for taking this step and fully embracing the start of what I hope becomes a lifelong way of living that can inspire other busy working moms like me!
