INDIVIDUALIZED

1:1 COACHING

Your coaching is built around your life, your goals, and where you actually want to end up, not a one-size-fits-all plan.

  • No fads or extremes, just coaching grounded in current evidence and real-world application

  • From short-term wins to long-term habits, we build nutrition that adapts as your life does

  • We close the gap between knowing what to do and actually doing it

  • Better choices stop feeling forced and start feeling automatic, no more starting over

  • We help you build a real relationship with food: less restriction, more confidence in your body and what it’s able to do

DIFFERENT TRACKS FOR DIFFERENT GOALS

Many of our long-term clients move through different coaching tracks throughout the year as goals, seasons, and priorities change.

Your coach will place you in a track based on your primary and secondary goals from your sign-up forms, and may shift you between tracks over time as those goals evolve.

Each track includes multiple versions of check-in questions. Your coach will periodically move you through these to reflect changing goals and to keep check-ins relevant, effective, and engaging.

  • Optimally fuel your training, dial in your recovery, and sharpen your mindset to perform at your absolute best. Whether you're prepping for your next (or first) big event, juggling two sports, competing at a high level, chasing PRs for fun, or building your base and skills in the off-season, our Performance program is tailored to your sport and goals within it.

With firsthand experience competing and coaching at high levels across multiple sports, our diverse team understands the mental and physical challenges athletes often face, especially in the thick of training. We're here to help you build both an iron physique and mindset, using evidence-based sport nutrition and proven mindset strategies to break through barriers and unlock your full athletic potential.

  • For those with a primary goal to improve health and/or body composition. Our Lifestyle program helps you feel your absolute best, inside and out. With personalized, sustainable nutrition and mindset strategies, we help you to create lasting habits that improve your everyday quality of life.

  • Support your body through every stage of motherhood. From nurturing your pregnancy to navigating postpartum recovery, our P&P program provides practical, compassionate guidance for maintaining your health and energy while caring for your growing family.

FAQ

  • Nope! This is an optional courtesy service we provide for people who have questions before getting starting. You do not need to do the free call and can totally skip this step to get started.

  • Upon sign up, you’ll create a profile and complete a very detailed questionnaire. This helps your coach tailor a custom plan and starting point that makes sense for you and delivers the results you want.

Within 1-2 business days of submitting the form, your coach will reach out with a personal welcome message or video, and a starting point with your nutrition and habits.

  • The way you fill out your client questionnaire after submitting payment is how your coach knows to put you on the Lifestyle, Performance, Pregnancy, or Postpartum track. The only difference between tracks is a slight variation in check in questions.

Many of our long-term clients cycle through different track throughout the year as goals and seasons change.

  • We coach plenty of people who aren’t currently active or who feel “off track.”

If movement is something you want to rebuild, we’ll help you do it in a realistic, sustainable way. If movement is limited by things outside your control, we’ll help you navigate that season without forcing timelines or expectations.

Either way, you don’t need to earn your way into Black Iron, we always meet you wherever you’re at.

  • Most meaningful, lasting changes don’t happen overnight. For many people, it takes several months to build habits that actually stick. We have a 3-month minimum commitment, after which you’re free to continue or cancel whenever it feels right.

Most of our Lifestyle clients work with us for 6 to 18 months, depending on their goals, needs, and starting point. Many of our Performance clients stay with us for years.

Our goal isn’t to keep you forever. It’s to help you build the skills, confidence, and understanding to manage your nutrition independently. So if and when you “break up” with us, you feel fully capable on your own.

  • Because real results come from consistency, support, and habits you can rely on when motivation dips. We’re invested in long-term progress, not quick fixes that fall apart the moment life gets busy. Three months provides the minimum structure, accountability, and momentum needed to build meaningful, lasting change.

The 3-month commitment also allows us to protect the quality of coaching on both sides. It ensures your coach has the time, continuity, and capacity to fully invest in your progress, rather than operating in short, stop-and-start cycles that don’t serve anyone well.

After your initial three months, you can cancel at any time.

  • No, macro tracking is optional. If tracking isn’t a good fit or you want a break from it, your coach will use other methods to ensure you’re eating an appropriate amount to support your goals, lifestyle, and movement.

  • Your coach can see your food diary, macros (if applicable), habit tracking, and your responses to the weekly check-in questions. If you connect a fitness or health tracking device (such as a watch or ring), your coach can also see data like sleep, steps, resting heart rate, HRV, and other metrics provided by that device or app.

You also have the option to share body weight, measurements, body fat percentage, and/or progress photos. All of these are completely optional and never required.

  • Once you become a client, you can book a Zoom call with your coach for an additional fee through your client portal in the app or browser anytime. If you’d like ongoing support, you also have the option to add monthly Zoom calls with your coach upon sign up. Clients who commit to monthly calls receive a discounted rate compared to booking individual sessions.

Clients who live in certain states also have to option to book medical therapy calls with one of our team dietitians.

The Black Iron team brings over 185 years of combined professional experience in nutrition, fitness, and health. Our coaches, nutritionists, and dietitians hold a variety of specialty certifications and advanced degrees, ensuring expert guidance tailored to your unique goals.
