I live an active lifestyle and being fit is crucial for my job. After years of slowly gaining weight and being uncomfortable in my own skin, I knew I needed to make a change and get serious. I saw Black Iron advertised through some people I followed and decided to give it a whirl in October 2024 with Lauren. We took it slow and started by having me track what I was currently eating. I’m not new to tracking macros, it’s just so tedious (I thought) and I didn’t want to take the extra time. But, I wanted to make changes and I agreed. Seeing the macros and calories of what I was eating really put it into perspective for me. It’s not that it was “bad,” but I didn’t prioritize protein and often didn’t hit nearly half of my goal.
Next was the activity factor. With my job, it’s hard to be consistent all of the time. I’m still learning how to get my steps in or get a workout in, and still trying to be flexible and kind to myself on the days where I can’t be prepared. This journey has been great with Lauren to guide me! I’ve lost about 20 pounds and 1-2 pant sizes, but most importantly, I feel comfortable in my own skin again. I’m so excited to continue my journey with Black Iron to see what else I’m capable of!
