Ryann grew up in the Chicago suburbs and was involved in competitive volleyball all throughout her childhood and into high school. Ryann was diagnosed with Graves disease in 2004 and her symptoms spiraled out of control in 2008 which ended her volleyball career. Ryann had to get her thyroid removed in 2010 and is now considered hypothyroid.
After high school Ryann focused on her career as a hairstylist and stopped being active completely. She struggled with her mental health and body image during this time. In 2015 Ryann joined a gym and found her love for fitness and being active. In 2016 she found Black Iron Nutrition and decided to give it a shot. After years of body image issues she found a way to take control.
After joining Black Iron and reading Flexible Dieting 2.0, Ryann found a passion for nutrition. She loved the way it transformed her mental health. She loved that nutrition gave her a way to control her thyroid and focus on her health.
In early 2017 Ryann joined Crossfit and she fell in love. She found a way to get back to being competitive and had fun doing it. This is when she decided to reach out to BIN and ask about an internship. She wanted to help people find a balance with health, nutrition and happiness like her coach Kelsey had given her. She started her BINternship in 2018 and has fallen even more in love with BIN.
She currently works out at Crossfit 630 in Naperville surrounded by an amazing support system. She is also still a hairstylist in the Chicago suburbs. In her off time she loves spending time outside or exploring Chicago with her boyfriend and puppy.
