Reishi Bedtime Tea

The Reishi mushroom is known to be healthful in so many ways. The main ways include strengthening the immune system, and supporting the liver in its detoxing abilities. But another reason we love ingesting Reishi is for its calming effects. If you’re looking to try something new for your bedtime routine, consider this mushroom in the form of a tea. Reishi is often paired with cacao to help mask the slightly bitter taste, but that can actually stimulate the body, so you have to be mindful of that. Here’s my favorite way to enjoy it before I go to bed.

Recipe:

  • One packet Four Sigmatic Reishi mushroom tea blend

  • 8 oz warm* coconut milk or milk of choice (I like Laird Superfoods unsweetened creamer with water)

  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon

  • A tiny amount of raw honey to taste (I dip my spoon in just a little to grab the honey and stir it in)

  • Blend up in blender/Nutribullet or use a frother, and enjoy anytime before going to sleep!

*If you want the positive effects of the honey aiding in keeping you asleep through the night as well, be sure to keep the milk warm, not hot.
