Our philosophy at Black Iron Nutrition has always been centered around helping individuals create sustainable, goal oriented lifestyles. And we've fully embraced the notion that each individual client needs to be educated and coached a very specific way. As we’ve grown and evolved it’s become apparent that a lot of us, at some point in our lives, experience symptoms or health concerns that require additional attention.
Welcome to Black Iron Nutrition Restore, where we take a bio-individual approach to using real food and implementation of practical habits to help you build a better foundation. Whether you have constant bloating, sugar cravings, sleep issues, stubborn acne, trouble maintaining energy throughout the day, or you just want to learn how to be healthier to prevent symptoms down the road, we are here to support you on that journey.
This program is run by Emily Rodela, a certified Nutritional Therapy Practitioner (NTP). Emily uses a holistic approach for assessing nutritional deficiencies in the body and focuses on a whole foods diet paired with a well-balanced lifestyle while respecting a clients unique nutritional requirements and the body’s innate ability to heal. Emily looks closely at symptoms around digestion, blood sugar handling, fatty acid balance, and vitamin and mineral needs to create your unique diet and lifestyle plan. She works with clients who experience trouble with sustained energy, sleep, bloating/diarrhea/constipation, headaches/light-headedness, autoimmunity, food sensitivities, thyroid levels, PMS/amenorrhea and more.
Emily is certified through the Nutritional Therapy Association (NTA). The NTA’s philosophy is that the myriad health problems plaguing modern society result from weaknesses in the body’s physiological foundations brought on by poor nutrition. As an educational organization, the NTA is dedicated to helping healthcare professionals understand and reverse the tragic and unsuspected effects of the modern diet on their patients and clients.
HOW IT WORKS
STEP 1: APPLY AND WAIT TO HEAR BACK FROM US
Fill out the application form. If we have further questions, we will email you back. We want to make sure this program is a good match for you before we begin.
STEP 2: SET UP YOUR PAYMENT AND PROFILE AND FILL OUT A DETAILED QUESTIONNAIRE
Upon your application being accepted, you will set up your payment method and receive access to the software portal. From there you will fill out the most detailed questionnaire you will ever see right within our software!
Since we believe each individual is in need of something totally unique, we need to know who you are, what symptoms you’re experiencing, and what your goals are. We want to know everything there is to know about you in order to create a plan that you can not only stick to, but will get you closer to the goals you are looking to achieve. You will also record and upload a detailed 3 day food journal. The information you provide is crucial to helping us see what a normal day looks like for you.
STEP 3: REVIEW OUR RESOURCES AND GUIDES TO GETTING STARTED
While you wait 24-48 hours to hear from back us, you have TONS of content to browse through within your software portal... macronutrient information, a list of trusted food brands, and much more. This is where you start your journey towards learning how to live a healthier life.
STEP 4: Schedule your initial phone call
Within 2 days of receiving your sign up form we will reach out via email to schedule your initial phone call. Based on the answer you provided in your questionnaire, we may have additional questions to ask. This is your chance to ask us questions too!
Now for the golden question: “Will I get a meal plan?!” Of course not! Here at BIN Restore we believe that knowledge is power and we are about teaching you how to eat, not telling you what to eat. If we told you what to eat every day for months straight, what would you do after us? The entire point of BIN Restore is to empower you to the point of never needing another nutrition coach again. That being said, while you won’t receive a meal plan, you will receive an insane amount of knowledge and tools that will teach you the kinds of food that are nourishing to your body.
Don’t let this deter you… your coach will be available for questions at each weekly check-in. We also take into consideration how much information is coming your way and find out how you like to receive information. So we start with the basics, see where you’re at each week, and then give you more tips a tricks along the way.
STEP 5: receive your initial recommendations
This is where we get personal! With the information we receive about you, and your goals/lifestyle, we put together a plan that lists goals and recommendations that set you up for success in you first week. This usually includes a realistic set of recommendations on habits, foods to eat more of, foods to stay away from, supplementation (if needed), and specific educational resources. This starting point will look different for everyone; we really take into consideration what will work best for you as an individual.
STEP 6: record WEEKLY PROGRESS IN OUR SOFTWARE PLATFORM TO CHECK IN WITH YOUR COACH
You will check in with your coach weekly through the software, and in that check in, we ask it all! How you slept, energy levels, questions you may have, struggles/accomplishments, how we can best help you, and so on. If you end up choosing to track your food through the app, we can actually SEE into your food diary through the software, which allows us to make substitutions and alterations to your diet effortlessly. If you don’t track your food, no problem, we will ask you questions about your food intake, how you felt throughout the week, and go from there!
STEP 7: RECEIVE FEEDBACk, answers to your questions, and SET GOALS FOR THE FOLLOWING WEEK
From there, we coach. We tell you what you did great and help you with those healthy behaviors moving forward. We also talk about what went wrong and why, then suggest how to not let it happen again. Then we decide how to proceed depending on how the week went. Sometime that means going a little further with a concept or goal, and sometimes it means adding a couple new recommendations if you’re getting the hang of the current ones. If you have questions on how to do something better, or if you need substitution ideas, this is where you can ask those questions. If a new symptom appears, we can address it at this point. The more we hear from you, the more we can help and support.
At Black Iron Nutrition Restore we are dedicated to helping you get your health back. We know how frustrating it is to feel worn down all of the time, or to have a bloated stomach every time you eat, and not understand why. We started this because we came from a similar place. We thought we knew what health meant. We just wanted to start feeling “normal” again, and once we saw the power of real food and knowledge, and to how it works for each person differently, we came out on the other side with a whole new perspective. It isn’t “normal” to feel crappy all the time and we can help you fix that.
In addition to your coach, you will also have access to the entire BIN staff at the tip of your fingers, every single day, through our exclusive community Facebook group where members and coaches share recipes, results, hurdles, and successes. The Facebook group has thousands of current and past members in it, all eager to help one another.
Your goals may change over time with us, but the process will always remain the same. You may cancel your monthly subscription at any time. We hope you will be joining us soon!
